Gov. Edgar Chatto presides this morning’s coordination meeting for the 2018 CVRAA hosting. According to DepEd led by Dr. Wil Bongalos, Bohol will host 11,737 delegates from 19 divisions in the whole of Central Visayas. Pre-CVRAA activities will begin February 23. It will officially open on February 25 with a Holy Mass at 2:00pm, followed by a a parade at 3:30pm which will lead to the CPG Sports Complex for the opening ceremonies at 5:30pm. The governor said the hosting is a community event and thus thought to also include in coordination activities the tourism office and even the business sector. A Task Force has also been established to keep peace and security during the holding of the CVRAA-a small scale ASEAN model has been prepared by Bohol PNP led by Provincial Director Angel Geñorga who aims for zero incidence related to CVRAA. A strict policy on securing athletes in terms of accounting for delegation will be enforced as well as tight monitoring to ensure food safety. PPA has reported arrival of delegates as early as February 17. Also among topics discussed was the strict imposition of fare tariffs as well as traffic rules.
